26. These are NOT Conspiracies

Tonight’s ride share involves a gentleman I picked up who seemed to want to get directly to the point. He started by quickly asking me all the standard questions: How do you stand the heat here? I’m from Portland and we’re not used to this kind of heat. Are you from here? Oh, you’re not? Where are you originally from?

Instead of my usual, I am from all over answer, I told him I was born in Delaware.

He said, “Delaware isn’t that near Boston?”

I replied, “No, it’s closer to Philadelphia.”

Then he asked, “Isn’t that where Biden is from?”

I answered, “Yup.”

He asked me if the locals there really liked Biden. I told him that I hadn’t lived there in decades, but I would guess they might have some kind of hometown pride for him.

He then asked me how I felt about Biden. I basically decided to play neutral and said I don’t trust any politicians. He told me that was probably a good idea.

“All politicians were crooked.” He talked about how politicians became rich off the common people and how when they had first come into office they were people making $100,000 a year and in a handful of years they became millionaires. I nodded in agreement.

At this point, he mentioned several Democrats that he felt were corrupt and who he felt became rich because of their time in office. I can’t remember the examples he cited but I felt I would throw in a bone and mention Paul Ryan. I said that Ryan had only been in office for a short time and left while relatively still young and left filthy rich. He took the money and ran.

He nodded and acknowledged this, saying that it was on both sides. I decided to see where he stood on the parties and I brought up John McCain, saying that I felt like he might have been the last politician with integrity.

He told me that another politician he mentioned (I can’t remember his name) who had also been a POW, one of the last to get out of Vietnam, had said that McCain was a liar and a jerk who capitalized on his experience in the war. But then the man from Portland said he didn’t really know if this was true, but it was just something he heard.

He said he didn’t believe conspiracies and the like and only followed things that were definite fact. That’s why he mentioned the other politician who was a POW, because if he said it, it had to be fact. He was in the war and so he knew all about McCain.

He then went back to Biden. He said that he had nothing against Biden, but Biden seemed to have a certain dementia. Certain actions of his were definitely showing signs of that. The Portlander said that his parents both died of Alzheimer’s, and it is a terrible way to go. He feels bad for the President and that Biden looked like he was on a path through dementia.

I just nodded and said uh-huh. I did not tell him about my own experiences with dementia. Isn’t Biden’s dementia, without proven facts, what one might call… a CONSPIRACY?

He went on to say how lifelong politicians should all be retired. There should be limits on their terms. He brought up names like Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, and how they should all retire. Not just because they had become corrupt over the years but also because they were so old and could not make decisions for the people. I did wonder why he didn’t think Mitch McConnell should retire after the recent bouts he has had with freezing in front of the cameras. I wasn’t against the man’s views of term limits or age restrictions, but I felt he had other things in mind.

He then went on to tell me about Robert Kennedy III. I felt that this is where he wanted to go all along.

He said Kennedy was a politician we could trust. Yes, his family had been in politics for several generations, but RJK3 was new to the game.

He brought up that Kennedy already admitted to taking all the vaccines. The media was painting him as an anti-vaxxer, though, and they were trying to paint a bad picture of him. Kennedy was all for vaccines! His concern was that they hadn’t been properly explored and tested. They had been rushed. The MRNA wasn’t fully studied. Kennedy just wanted to make sure they were safe and that Fauci had rushed them all because he was being paid millions by the pharmaceutical companies. Thousands of Americans were secretly dying from the vaccine every day, but it was all being kept hushed by the government because it would make Biden and Fauci and them all look bad. Hushed government information without actual facts… I believe that is a sort of… CONSPIRACY?

He then talked about how the CIA probably killed Robert Kennedy Jr. That in the final investigation, six bullet holes had been found in the roof of the kitchen that Sirhan Sirhan had attempted to assassinate Kennedy in. That would have been all the bullets in his gun. He had been taken down by the Secret Service before he started could even aim at Robert Kennedy and fired all his bullets into the ceiling. The secret report on the bullet that had killed Kennedy was that it was shot at short range, determined by the powder burns, and from the same caliber weapon that CIA agents are given. Information offered without fact…. CONSPIRACY?

The man from Portland was pleasant enough as he spoke. He wasn’t all fired up or maniacal. He spoke in a very calm manner. Which is what scared me the most about him.

He then went on to mention how he felt that former President T was an outsider, like Kennedy, who tried to buck the system. And that’s why everyone hated him and was out to get him. Especially the rich politicians. That’s also why the media had really painted a bad picture of T. The Portlander talked about how the government was only focused on making wars and serving the military industrial complex, but T was trying to end all the wars and that’s why they were out to get him. He had pulled us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and was going to pull the military out around the world and the generals could not have that.

I wanted to tell him that it was Obama who ended the war in Iraq on December 18, 2011 and Biden was President when the war in Afghanistan ended on August 30, 2021 but he already believed otherwise… believing something that is vehemently proved false… CONSPIRACY?

He then said a Kennedy/Trump ticket would be perfect and just what our country needed to be brought back together. I fought to stay quiet the whole time.

I hadn’t been sure exactly where this man’s political leanings swayed so I had remained quiet most of the time. Again, he didn’t seem like a fanatic and maybe that’s what made him scarier to me.

He definitely had picked his man for the future. A Democrat, as well, he reminded me. He also reminded me that the system was against his candidate, and we should all align With Robert Kennedy III.

I’m not saying if he’s right or wrong. I stayed neutral as I could. Kennedy is a Democrat who is running against Biden for the nomination. But this guy seemed very anti-Democrat. I don’t know exactly where a Kennedy/T ticket would fall into place… red or blue.

I’m not exactly sure of what Portland politics ar. I thought they leaned Democrat, while the rest of the state of Oregon leaned Republican.

In any case, as we approached his destination, he looked at me, waved a finger and said remember all that he told me come election time.

I smiled back and wished him a happy Labor Day weekend.

He smiled and told me that it was the Kennedys who had made sure we could even celebrate a Labor Day and that the government was looking to take it away from the people.

That was the first time I had heard THAT conspiracy.

61. Their minds on their money and their money on their minds

Most of my day rides are pretty boring… people don’t tend to talk. They just want to get where they are going and have not had their tongues...
